From Vulcain.ch and their Instagram feed, here are some renderings of Crickets to be released this year. They are seeking design feedback. A salmon dial is apparently being envisioned too.

Edit, 36 & 39mm versions, I recall

The black dial is stunning, but the price is suggested to be apx 3500 CHF. It would need to be really impressive for that price point. Anyone know much about the owners?

Here’s my design feedback:
Cut the price in half and understand the market and you may sell a few. See Massena Lab as cautionary tale.

These days 3500 CHF doesn't buy a lot of watch, especially an alarm watch from a brand that's been around awhile, so I can't get too excited about the price point. It's easy to say, 'cut the price in half' but you aren't likely to be able to make the watch with the dedicated alarm movement, market it, and make a profit. I think it's a reasonable effort at that price point.

I really like the look. I am keeping an eye open for a Vulcain I like the history behind it and found one local with a box, original 60’s Vulcain watch not sure if the box was actually for said watch. Darn thing was near mint though but it was 32mm. That was the only thing that held me back. It was pretty standard no date or chrono but nice nonetheless. I certainly would not mind a modern revival but the MSRP is a bit scary, any chance it’s like Invicta MSRP if so I’m in.

Yes, agreed, there is something not right about the dial design… Needs more true, or bigger (or dots?) numerals.. and a bit lower price…

Mine from the 50’s & 60’s:

Now that’s just gratuitous. 😉
