Hello all,

I am happy to announce that I managed to grab a 168.022 in good shape for an awesome deal.
I’ve only got a few photos from the seller, but I’m very happy with the aesthetic of the case. I’m a big fan of vintage 36-37mm case sizes and hope to expand my collection further later on.

The lug bevels and radial brushing on the bezel appear almost too good to be true, and I feel like they may been polished at some point during the watch’s lifetime. There is some rounding on the corners and a bit of smudging on the bezel that gives me hope that this is just in good shape for its age*, but either way, if polished, it feels professionally done by someone who knew what they were doing. The rest of the case looks fine too.

The dial, hands, crown, and xtal also appear well cared-for and are free of any signs of redialing, water/moisture, or other non-wear-and-tear damage.

Open to feedback about the appearance from more experienced members of the forum!

Service history is unknown, but it’s currently keeping “good time.”

My next move is to grab an 1125 bracelet with 560 endlinks and get it fitted properly. Very excited for this one.

Thanks for reading!

Looks fine, but definitely not close to NOS. Plenty of signs of wear.

Hey Dan, yeah i agree, NOS was a bad way to put it. I guess “well-worn” was more what I was going for. A lot of the examples I saw while shopping were really beat up, so this looked extremely good in comparison.

I also got one of these last year and then added the bracelet. I thought I would like it, but sadly it's underwhelming.

That looks gorgeous! What about it let you down? I’d be happy to take it off your hands if it bores you.

I can't really say. I like the size, it's perfect. But the style just doesn't compare to older models. And darn, I should not have sold that 2577.

Wow, kudos to you - the BOR bracelets are really nice on those. Thank you for sharing that photo. And yes I agree that 2577 is sick! What a shame that it’s gone.

If I’m not getting too far ahead of myself and you ever decide you’d like to move the 1125 (of course assuming you still have it), I’d love to hear from you.

It's obviously past my bedtime, I really should not be badmouthing my own watches. 😲

Enjoy the 168.022. I actually think it works very well on a strap, just looking at it on the black Horween in that photo.

Seconds hand looks incorrect. If you compare the shape of the hand to the watch shown by Dan, the one in the OP is not the same, and doesn't really look like an Omega hand.

Oh man, you're right. The seconds hand shape is a bit off... Can't believe I missed it. I was so focused on the hour and minute hands that I guess I lost track. I suppose I'll have to try to search for an OEM seconds hand.

I’ve received the watch and am happy to report that the seconds hand does indeed look like the ones in Dan’s images. Here it is on an 18mm canvas while I wait for my 1125 bracelet. 😀

Nice watch! Congrats. Make sure your strap has the right size! Seems it’s missing 1 or 2 mm?

Congrats! For a while I was thinking of collecting these cases, there are many awesome 300Hz variations of the same shape as well

thanks! yeah, I don’t have any 19mm straps OR springbars bc this watch came truly head only, so I’m making do with an 18mm strap until I get a chance to hit up the OB for an 1125.

Nice watch 😀. You can also mount a 1172 with 538 endlinks.

Nice, that looks fantastic. I just managed to grab my 1125 a little bit ahead of schedule 😀

I also like the watch very much on the 1125, on the 1172 it looks quite different....

Nice watch, congrats. A 20mm leather strap fits fine on a 19mm lug.
you should never wear a narrower strap in such a case, because the traction of the strap on the spring bar might cause the bar to snap off, and send your watch flying off your wrist. I had ignored that advice in my newbie days, and was glad I was near a couch or something when my watch decided to come off.
