I thought the same when I first saw the new UK coin designs on my phone. They really do look a lot like automatic watch movements! I actually like those designs; they're pretty unique and detailed. It's always exciting to see fresh takes on coin designs.

I just now found your thread Spruce.

They look very ... modern.

I like the motifs. They are a bit souless though and pale in comparison to the best of the designs from the past 1000 years.



Even though I am an American I even like the old spade guinea of George III!

I prefer the original British coins depicting nature. Gold stater, Iceni tribe horse. 2000 years old.

Squirrels are nice, but they chew through your electric cables.

Really what's 1 cent nowadays anyway.

Australia got rid of ours years ago for the round up or down system….👍

Darwin = we measure days in cartons of beer
1x day fishing = 1x carton
3x days fishing = 3x cartons etc;
