Tudor published this on their social media and few news articles on French newspapers websites, now I'm curious to see what's cooking (hopefully a sub MN ?)

One can only wish they do a reissue of those two watches. Without fauxtina

Not just the sizes! The vertical proportions for all recent Tudor divers have been terrible. Take away some height from the caseband, give it to the caseback and bezel/crystal, and boom - suddenly the watch will wear much slimmer, and sport a far more elegant profile.

Looking forward to whatever the collaboration is , just hope its available as a general release & not a super limited edition .It would be the icing on the cake for me if it’s in Blue .

Very excited to see what they announce.
On one hand I wonder if the collaboration is about function - maybe resulting in a special edition Pélagos.
On the other hand, maybe this is just about marketing and we’ll see a new color way in one of their line up.
Of course there is a chance at something entirely new (or new old) - that’s what I’m hoping for.

Indeed. And they must know it, most official pictures I remember seeing are from a frontal view, or showing off the bevels. A lot of modern watches are really blocky when seen from the side.

Yup, it’s the one thing that has kept me from chasing the heritage chrono as I love the Monte Carlo styling. I could have possibly gotten over the 42mm case (although 40 w/20 lugs would have been perfect), and 13mm thick doesn’t seem that bad, but it’s a slab from the side and sits high on the wrist. And by the way they have dipped on the used market, I am guessing I’m am not the only one that felt that way.
I really don’t understand why all of these companies don’t seem to get that if you are going to do a reissue or homage from your own brand heritage, don’t try to put a modern spin on it or jazz it up- just do a 1:1 with a modern movement and you will have gold.

Omega got at least one right. 😉

As for Tudor, the modern versions leave me cold, including the recent offerings, with the exception of certain Black Bay references. Vintage is a different story.

Yeah, Omega has done alright, but the Railmaster was a missed opportunity. They nailed the SM300 and SMP (although put the crayons back in the box for the fauxtina- at least stick with the pale shades and avoid the “burnt” tones). At 38mm they lost plot on that one- a svelt 36mm would have been a home run.

Certina could have hit Rado gold with their PH200, but bloated it up to 43mm 😲

Again- Tudor and the Monte Carlo....guys, it was perfect...why?

Longines has done pretty well but they seem to upsize just a tad too much for form factor. The Heritage diver chrono almost had me....burgundy bezel...I feel ya’, chamfered lugs....oh yeah, big eye at 9...oh baby, green lume....keep it comin’...date at 4- oh no....42mm....wait, your losing me....22mm lugs....and I’m out.

Yema is doing the same it seems:

Yeah, Yema's Marine Nationale watch is due tomorrow. It seemed they were the official watch too, so I wonder how this works out with Tudor. Doesn't really matter, I'm curious to see what each has to bring.

Sign me TF up for a re-issued blue/blue Sub.
But that was what I said about a blue/blue Black Bay and yet here we are...still don't have one lol.
My wife thought the bathroom remodel was more important apparently.

Looking back at both Yema and Tudor, they both use very similar language and collaboration/partnership terms. I think this will be a collaboration with MN on the dial or case back, LE watch. I don't get the sense either is the official watch for MN,

I dunno, this seems like pretty direct language.

I mean, when does "The French Navy's Official Watch" not mean the official watch?

Whether or not they collaborated on the design (I suppose by this time tomorrow we'll know) they've at least been promoting it as the MN's official watch. Maybe it wasn't an exclusive deal or something though

Interesting that both Yema and Tudor are releasing this on the same day. Maybe we'll see a YEMA x TUDOR x MN...
