    Hello,
I have been an avid reader on this forum (as well as others), and have been educated quite a bit by the posters here. I finally took the plunge and signed up today, and wanted to introduce myself and a vintage Omega that I bought recently.

I live in the West Coast with my family, and have been collecting watches (mostly unfocused) over the past 4 years, Lately found myself gravitating a lot towards 50's Omegas, and here's the watch that I came to acquire recently that's given me quite some joy. My understanding is that this is an Omega imported and cased in France, and hence have some characteristic difference in the dial and case compared to the same model assembled in Switzerland. I have been wearing it on and off, and am surprised to see how accurate it's been - within 4 seconds or less per day.

I appreciate the opportunity to be a member in this forum, and look forward to sharing in our common passion.

    Thank you, Deckard81, Impondering.

Just as I was seeing the posted pictures, I realized that the crown looks to be yellow gold, where the case is pink! Oh, well.

That's great to hear of course, but you realize the OPs watch is not a pie pan. ;)

It looks pie pan from my smartphone... I'll have another look on the PC but I'll take your word for it.

Congrats on the nice pink gold with original dial and recent service as well. I think I saw it on the bay also.

The oscillating weight had been replaced with an incorrect, unadjusted one though.

Thanks TNTwatch - That reminds me - yes, I thought so too, but the seller mixed up the photos. The movement does have the correctly engraved chronometer rotor. Will post the correct picture when I get the chance.

Welcome to you and your watch!
Would be proud to wear that on my wrist (well done).
Yes, OF is pretty damn awesome. A great bunch of like-minded people and an awesome resource for learning more about Omegas

Thanks Mozambique, great to make your acquaintance.

TNTwatch - I'm adding a picture of the movement that I just took - is this what you would expect to see in this model?

Yes the rotor looks right for the dial now. It looks like they switched out the movement and kept the same case. The previous movement actually say Fabriqué en Suisse which is more expected for a French market watch. The new movement does not. It'd be interesting to know what Omega says about this movement - an email to them may get you the answer.

I'm not sure of the exact email address, but there must be a way to contact them in the support or heritage section of their website.
