After over 30 years of contemplating owning one, I finally decided to pull the trigger. Why did I not do this sooner? What a wonderful piece of history and horological efficiency. Dial represents the perfect balance: gives you what you need without being cluttered. Last week, I was in Biel/Bienne and visited the Omega Museum (and the "Espace Horloger" in Le Sentier where they currently have a James Bond exhibit-no pics allowed). The Omega Museum is a wonderful experience both in content and with a great staff. Petros, the main guy when it comes to the history of the brand at Omega, was wonderful to meet and to connect with.
After the event tonight at the King of Prussia Boutique I can say Danny DeAngelis Boutique technician is the best. Let alone the speedmaster is amazing Sir.
I also contemplated one but not for 30 years! I think it was close to eighteen months.... Congrats, enjoy and welcome to the club!
Lovely watch! The museum sounds like a great place to visit for Omega enthusiasts. Welcome to the forum! It would seem you've been bitten by the 'watch bug'!!!
I waited a long time too, until , well...I guess the time was right, and I couldn't be more thrilled. Congrats.
Thank you for the welcome! It's not like I've been without watches for the past 30+ years. It's just that I've sort of been a fan of the Other Brand that also manufactures its movements in Biel//Bienne So it was a big step for me to cross over but I'm really glad I've done it.
I spent 30+ years coveting the Rolex GMT2 Pepsi and finally pulled the trigger this year. I had acquired my grail watch. A scant couple of weeks later the Speedmaster Bug bit me. I hemmed and hawed about the price, spent a few more weeks deciding on the right one, and BAM!! I'm now a Speedmaster guy. Welcome to the Speedy Club!
