Picked this up on Chrono24 used but was told by previous owner not worn but once, and came with all the original papers box accessories band and the Yema dry bag .

Sought out the limited edition because of the blue dial and the connection to an initiative to save sea life, specifically whales, and Moby Dick is my favorite novel (no joke! It’s good, give it a chance.) They made 1948 of these, the date being a homage to when the brand got its start.

Some thoughts: stupidly beautiful in person. It's a good size - 39.5mm -- that allows the bronze case to have the right amount of heft without feeling burdensome. Very striking shape and contrast between the bronze and the mesmerizing blue ombré dial. The bubble crystal emphasizes vintage vibes.

I'm eager to see how the case patinas and how quickly/slowly that happens. Already after a few days wear I can see dots of patina; it's very humid here.

I put it on the included blue nato strap and it makes the whole watch pop. Leather on a diver is a little odd to me, anyway. I can't tell if the hardware on the nato is also bronze or just bronze-colored steel. Suspect the latter?

My biggest gripe is the bezel lock, which looks cool but is fiddly, and that the stem and crown just feel weird. Sticky. The crown has serious wobble -- just the crown, not the stem -- when fully extended in hack/set position. I have several other screw-down divers and they do not exhibit the same play. I don’t know if it’s a glitch for this particular watch or an overall issue with the edition but I have reached out to Yema to see what they say. It's no longer under warranty, however. Le sigh!

Does have phantom date stop, which does not bother me so much. First-gen in-house movement.

None of the drawbacks impact my mood enough to stop me from wearing it. It's on my wrist full time, as the photos prove.

I have one as well, it’s the best of the modern Supermen IMHO.

That hombre dial looks good in the sunlight!
