    Hello All!

Just acquired this superb 145.012-67 ... dial, bezel, case, and hands are all in what appears to be amazing shape. I have a question though, on the back of the 11 o'clock lug is an engraving: "1373m" (seen in the second picture)

Anyone have an idea of why that would be there? Or what it's significance might be? My assumption is there is no importance, but who am I to deprive our imaginations of a treasure hunt? IMG_9649 2.JPG IMG_9650.JPG
    Cheers!

It's probably someone's driver's license/ID number, in case of theft.

Beautiful watch. Lovely lume and I agree with @wsfarrell . Almost a shame that it's there because the condition otherwise is really fine.

I'll never understand the concern about the condition of the underside of lugs. What are you people doing... wearing your watch upside down? I could care less if someone scraped a lifelike version of the Omega dick on mine :p

Could it also be a dealer stock number, or a service mark?

    Outstanding condition watch! Congrats.

The engraving if the person that sell to you do not know... will be difficult to know by guessing.

    Cheers

Anybody with a service history would have seen the unit QMS electro' serial numbers onto stuff that didn't normally have proper numbering so they could issue and account for small scale stuff.

Not saying this is an issue watch tho'.

This 145.012 have it too. One owner watch and he had no idea how it got there... He bought it at a US military shop in Greenland - can it be a military thingy?

My 145022-71 has some stuff scratched on the underside of one lug as well. Doesn't bother me a bit and IMO doesn't really affect the value - vintage watches have a history after all.

Thats a service mark. Back in the day it was also common to write a sign on a lug instead of the inside of the watch.

Are you sure it is a service mark ? My Seamaster Chrono 105.001 -62 has an similar engraving. R and underlined numbers. Could it be some kind of import/customs mark like in some countries ?
