Hi there I'm fairly new to watch collecting and have been lurking on these forums for some time. Finally decided to say hello and show some photos of my first vintage piece, my Speedmaster 145.022-69 with straight writing case back, which I bought at an auction in Germany. It appears to be original, unpolished but in super clean condition with hardly any wear on the case. The bezel is pristine except for a tiny mark at the top next to 60. I'm not sure of its service history but it's been running very well at +5-7 sec per day for the few months that I've owned it. I have the original 1171 bracelet but here I have it on a beautiful Bulang & Sons hand made strap. Would love to hear what you guys think
That looks like a great example, congrats. Lovely dial with matching hands and lume, great case, good bezel.
Very nice . Welcome aboard. Colour in the caseback lettering looks great. You're avatar has reminded me I need to pick up a copy of Moonfire. I think they recently republished it in a smaller version so I just need to take some care ordering online.
Thanks guys! I love this watch and though I think I may have overpaid I don't mind so much given how difficult it is to find Apollo-era Speedmasters in this sort of condition. I'm sure values will more than catch-up over time and I won't be letting go of this little guy any time soon @Emeister, I got the big Moonfire edition for the photography, which is amazing. While it is great for the photos, it is so big and unwieldy it is difficult to read comfortably. If you want it for reading rather than for staring at the photos, definitely get the paperback!
Welcome to the OF and great purchase!! Looks to be very clean and original, and real stunner. Plus, you bought it to enjoy for a long time, so you really can't lose no matter the price.
Wow! It's spectacular! Congratulations [that means a lot since I generally have little interest in vintage pieces]
