Yesterday was a good day with a visit from FedEx! Last year I sold my modern Speedy Pro to get into a few other watches. You guys know how it goes... Well since then I have never really been able to fill the void of not owning a Speedmaster. I recently decided it was time to find a replacement. This time around I wanted one with a tritium dial as I have really grown to like the patina achieved by aged tritium. I contacted the pre-owned dealer that is very well known on the forums that I have purchased a few Omegas from in the past to see if he might have anything that fit the bill. As it so happened, he just happened to get a watch back from being serviced and getting ready to list it for sale, a 1984 Speedy Pro. What makes this one special is that It has spent the better part of the last 30 years tucked away in a dealers safe! Thats right, this 30 year old watch is essentially brand new. I could not pass it up. The caseback still has the blue covering stuck to it. The case is of course completely unpolished and untouched. and the dial has the start of such a nice patina. It has the 1171 bracelet. Needless to say, I couldn't help but pull the trigger on this beauty, especially since it just had a movement service. I am so thrilled to have this in my collection and look forward to many years of seeing it on my wrist. I will not make the mistake again of letting a Speedy go. :) Thanks for reading my little story.

    Now on to some pics:

And the leather strap it will reside on for the time being:

    Love the blue snot!
Great example. It's only going to look better with age. Congrats!

Nice find. Congrats. The patina looks great. Now time to put it away for another 30 years.

So you're the lucky guy. I came 1 day after you bought it, too late :(

Glad you like it, it looks gorgeous on the strap. Enjoy and if one day you decide to sell it, dibs :)
    1984 is my birth hear.

Looks great and a good story. You're right - when something like that comes up, just buy it! - don't dither, (that's how you lose them and then have to repent at leisure, (and probably spend even more trying to find the same thing again)).

Great find! '84 is also my birth year and I'd love to find one in that kind of condition!
