Hi guys I'm new here at the omega forum. I have a fairly good colllection in nice watches. Rolex and Seikos.

But I have a question for you guys who are experts in Omega.

For a couple of the day's ago I went to my AD and bought a brand new speedmaster professional and I have some questions about it :)

First of all when I opened the biiiiiig box I noticed that the medallion was a bit different then video reviews I have seen.
    Mine looks like this!
Is it rare or have they changed it this year?

Every other accessories is the same, Velcro and NATO and the serial number is correct with the certificate.
And the watch is really nice, it´s the one with plexi!
I have emailed omega about it but I'm waiting to recive the answer :)

Is the patch an actual fabric patch with stitching? Interesting new design.

Has the OP posted multiple threads or something? It looks like this is his first.

Ahhhh. Gotcha. I'm new here too, over from WUS on account of my new 3570.50, so I wanted to make sure I wouldn't offend anyone with Speedy questions/comments! [emoji1]

That's a pretty cool new medallion, @Watchgeeker! I like it! Congratulations regarding the new Speedy Pro purchase...it's a FABULOUS watch!

Just a heads up...you can put a camera phone in the accessory bin of the presentation box, fully close the lid and take a pic utilizing the timer/flash on the camera phone...it's a GAS!

My Speedy Pro, older medallion and hang tag say 'hello'...from inside the presentation box...

Hello I am very new here also. I just found a new MOTM for $3,475 USD Is that a good price and are the new ones as good as the older 1861 or 861? I don't mind buying used at all especially if I can save some money. However, I'm finding the used prices almost as high as new and if I did buy used and it needed service I think it would coast as much or more than a new one.

That is a good price, IMO -- far cheaper than I've seen at ADs. The current moonwatch has remained essentially unchanged since the 1990s (although case numbers have changed and bracelets have changed slightly). They still use the 1861 movement, and the 1861 is not really that different than the 861 except in the plating of movement parts. I was also faced with buying used versus new, and found the same issue you had -- the market prices for used Speedmasters from the 90s with unknown service history has gone up markedly in the last five years, that by the time you count in a full service, the old watch was not significantly cheaper than new.
