Haven't bought a watch for many years but today I collected a new Moonwatch from Iconic Watches.

I was slightly surprised at the size of the presentation box:

since inside was another quite large box:

inside which was the watch, a paperweight, an eyeglass, two spare fabric straps and some spare pins and a tool of some description:

but it's now on my wrist and fits well and feels nice (apologies for the ropy photo):

I liked the service I received from Iconic so I bought my wife a ladies Constellation in SS as a watch she can wear everyday.

Welcome to the forum. This is the way to do it....with a first post.

I know it has been just a few hours, but have you decided on your next Omega watch?

Not yet. I wanted a watch which has a good chance of holding its value over the medium to longer term. I had initially ordered a DSOM but decided that even at the price at which it was offered - about £2k less than list - it probably wouldn't perform that function as well as this more "base level" watch. Discussing it with Iconic they agreed, saying that the Monnwatch was a much better bet.

I also bought a Rolex Daytona in SS at the same time. That watch will most probably just stay in the safe.

Congarts and wear it in good health..

LOL. How true. I received my first Omega (3573.50) last week and already contemplating my next purchase. Apollo II 35th anniversary? 45th anniversary? Gemini 4? Decisions, decisions.

@kkibrisli - welcome, I see you are also a new member....

I have the the Gemini and Apollo 35th - love them both. I really would like a meteorite, as well at the standard speedy.

I have also been looking at the Good Planet, actually made a few bids, but not close enough to my asking prices.

I think most of the modern Omega watches will fill this niche. Provided you buy used and smart. On the other hand, there is benefit to buy direct from the boutique.... the high rollers on this site are getting some nice benefits from Omega. I think it pencils out. I cant do it because I am too cheap and I don't think either of my suites fit.

I am cheap too lol I like to buy pre-owned! But I understand wanting to be the first owner of the watch. OP, looks great! Congrats!

    Thank you.

Excellent choice. I will be owning those two eventually.

    Good luck in your search.

That box is total overkill, but in a great way. Congrats on the new piece.
