Hi JimJupter, can I tell you an anecdote? Several years ago, during the Christmas holidays, the girlfriend of the photographer who worked with me told him that she wanted to give him a book. He replied: «No, thanks! I already have one! "
This is to tell you that each book tells a different story in a different way. I am the journalist who edited the texts and the edition of MAGISTER, the book by Andrea Foffi. I would just like to tell you that this is not the "usual book", but a collection of 70 Speedmaster, photographed by Fabio Santinelli, probably the best watchmaker photographer of recent years (Ultimate Rolex Daytona, Daytona Perpetual, many Phillips monographic catalogs. ..) and printed in six colors (usually printing in four colors) with a quality comparable to photographic prints. Also uncommon are the people who contributed to the book, from Petros Protopapas, Aurel Bacs, Robert-Jan Broer and an astronaut never yet seen in a book of watchmaking.
So you are right to inform yourself on instagram, just try to see if there is something different first, maybe you find it interesting.

I am truly honored to be on your forum. I have been a journalist for many years and I respect the ideas of the forums, made by true fans. It is no coincidence that I have often used news from the most specialized forums to supplement my knowledge

I’m afraid you may have spent a lot of time in all the wrong forums, if you’re only just now getting to OF 😎

The book looks very interesting, and while more than I would usually spend on a book, I’ll admit to having spent far more on far less.

you are right! I never stop learning! it will be a pleasure to compare myself in Omegaforums. As for Magister, the book is really uncommon, made with a lot of passion. its iconographic material, in terms of quality and quantity, really has few competitors. But you should see it live to really appreciate it.

I have to wonder, what will this tell me that MWO already hasn’t? The last book I bought on the subject (A Moonwatch Story), whilst relatively inexpensive, was pretty underwhelming.

unfortunately Magister is not inexpensive ... but it has a print and photographic quality that has never been seen before in a watchmaking book. there are 416 pages with unpublished photos and a great search for the pieces to be proposed. is a book made with passion for enthusiasts

good night at all omega passion guys ❤️

I fondly remember the times, when we toured the many Watchfairs in the 1990's, Andrea. The Friday night at the Sheraton Lobby in Munich before the dealer meetings at Saturday and the public on Sunday, were exiting. The Sheraton staff tried to ban all these watches on every table in the Lobby and many deals were started upstairs at the rooms. The normal Hotel guests these Friday nights wondered, where they had landed for the night .... Rather innocent times. Kind regards. Achim

Hi all,
an example of picture in Magister book...this allows you to see details that might otherwise go unnoticed and tells the book story slightly differently

No disrespect to IG, but you won't see that on IG.

Pretty amazing shot. We had a thread (or two) here on photo stacking. I'd guess this shot was stacked? However it was done, this shows a great deal of talent and experience.

Still don't think my wife would understand why I wanted to look at more pictures of watches, but she would probably agree yours are well-done.
