Hello!

I was in the hunt for a new Omega watch for my collection.

This time I wanted a quartz. So I went directly for the X-33 Skywalker. I've found one for sell in Mint condition. The seller told me he bought it 11 months ago, it can be seen in the warranty card also, in a shop that was selling with big discounts since they had to close the business..., and he got in total 10 watches for really nice price. We met, and after the visual check I did to the watch, I've found not even one scratch, so seems that never was used. Box and documents in order. The surprise was when I've seen that the watch was not working... I've told to the seller that for sure I want the watch, but battery should be changed in an official Omega shop. He agreed to manage from his side and meet after the battery replacement. Today he went to the Omega Boutique in Saint Petersburg (Russia) they've said that the battery will be changed under warranty, but it'll take two weeks, since the watch should go to Moscow. He provided to me the official document from the shop So, now it's time for me to wait till I receive my X-33. Can anyone explain me, what exactly they do to the watch during the battery replacement, just battery and that's it, or they change gaskets and something else?

Some photos of the watch ))

Thank you!

I've just had the battery replaced on my second generation X-33 by Omega.

The service included a test of the circuit, new battery, new crown, new pushers, new case back seal, and new case back screws.

Wow! If I may ask, how much was the total?

I believe that with mine they'll just change the battery and make some tests, I believe that they'll not change anything, with exception of the gaskets if needed. But it's cool that they took the watch under warranty. I believe they've seen its new and just less than one year old, that was the reason

No problem!

It was £145 - with the understanding that if the circuit failed it would be a lot more expensive (they swap the movement and also replace the hands).

I think this is the third or fourth time I've sent an X-33 in for a battery or a service, and they've always done a great job, relatively quickly (it was 4 weeks this time for the battery).

I believe they will change your case back gasket and case back screws as they are intended to be used only once - unless they have rules about always changing the crown and pushers with a battery chance, I suspect you are right. 👍

Thank you for the info!

I believe I'll get the watch on time (two weeks) but with luck will be faster 😉 As soon as I'll have it , I'll share which works they did and if there was some hidden costs 😉

Happy to share (what little) knowledge I have!

Hopefully they will give you a copy of the paperwork - which should include a breakdown of parts used. 👍
