Hello everyone! Just sharing my new purchase. The case is in pretty excellent condition with the original finish IMO. The rotor has been replaced so I don’t know the serial number... Why on Earth did Omega put the serial number there? The hands have obviously been painted. I bought this watch to wear frequently and enjoy. So it’s not a big deal to me. My friend and also my watchmaker said he could repaint the hands. What do you all think? Repaint? Replace? Or leave alone?
Hello everyone! I can use the collectives opinion! I’ve seen many photos of caliber 1040 rotors. The edges always appear discolored or worn. Is this normal on this caliber? Or maybe I’m just seeing bad examples? Here’s mine. My watchmaker suggested getting it rhodium plated to prevent more wear.
So my friend said he had a brain fart and it made no sense to hold plate the rotor. But I’ve decided the condition of the hands irritate me and since they have been repainted and are a little bent I want to replace them. The hour and min hands are a sit on ofrei. I found the chrono min recorder on eBay. Are the chrono second hand the same as any speedmaster on the mark iii? Here are some new photos post service!
Mine says hi. They are big brutes to wear as your daily beater though. One arm longer than the other syndrome.
