I bought this watch recently. It will be in the safe hands of my jeweler shortly. Could someone identify if it is an Omega Seamaster 166.010?
Looks like it to me and should clean up well. Don't give it to a jeweller who will charge you double the amount they pay the watchmaker. Find a watchmaker and deal direct then you'll get a better service and he/she will get everything you pay. Best regards, Chris
I don't think so from these terrible pictures - these seem to have been available with and without lume. Here's one I sold that had lume and the hand shape appears the same to me. Cheers, Chris
Thanks guys, I got it for $390USD. So there is some room for a service from my watch maker. Is that an ok price?
Very nice and a real bargain. Don't forget what @ChrisN said about finding a watchmaker instead of using a jeweller! Make sure the watchmaker is capable of dealing SENSITIVELY with vintage watches, in fact probably best not to do anything at all until you know what needs doing, what needs avoiding and who's best for the job.
When you get it serviced do not polish the case or have the dial or hands touched!!!! Make sure this is written on the service papers for the watch in large letters!!!
I noticed that too. I am still a rookie, but I thought the hands were wrong for this watch, but they had lumed and non lumed versions? Buyers had a choice?
