I got a little excited today when I saw this watch. I'm a complete sucker for larger, triple register, panda chrono's. 15eeb8i.jpg 9u278w.jpg t99w13.jpg A well known seller in Switzerland believes the Landeron mvmt might be a 180. Can anyone help confirm or refute this? I already own it so it's not affecting the purchase but I'd like to know!

It's a landeron for sure. google" landeron chronograph movement" and you should be able to drill it down.

    Neat watch.

It is from the 48 family. The upgraded minute recorder jumper and reset hammer were fitted to later 48s through to the 248s. The answer should be on the main plate under the balance wheel.

Nope not a 48 either. That 2 pronged thing is not coming of off the bridge.

US Market O&W with a O&W imported movement. Great score, very early O&W with a black bezel and early landeron movement before column wheel. Plus its a triple register, you done see them quite often as well.

Thanks for all the input, guys. I found out a little more. Not a lot, but a little. The watch is called an Astro-Chron and it was the most expensive of the O&W lineup. There are a couple links I found on the late, great Chuck Maddox's site (below). Regardless, there was an off-hand mention of the movement being a 349 on another site and if you look at the pic below, you can see a "49" on what I guess is the base plate, but you can't read the first digit. Could it be a 3? Strange, because of the two that I've seen on eBay and a past forum for sale post, at least one of those had a Val 72 movement.

WARNING: The original price sheet below will either make you cry, laugh or be ill. Not for the weak of heart.

I can only find the 2 register version. This really is bothering me.

The evidence is mounting for a Landeron 349. Just found this. Scroll down to see highly detailed pictures of the movement.

Great to hear. I never get lucky! Now, let's hope the watch actually gets here from Switzerland with all the Christmas shipping traffic.
