    Hello,

This was my first watch purchase in a while; I'd recently sold a Seamaster 2531.80 with the intent of clearing up funds for a Rolex Datejust. But I ended up with this one instead ;)

My understanding is that the watch is 100% original (except for the strap). The dial looks good to me, and the text on the dial looks untouched. Original and signed crystal, caseback, etc. I'm most impressed, however, with the condition of the case. The lugs and bezel are razor sharp, and almost completely free of abrasions.

No record of any recent servicing, but the movement looks and sounds clean. I'm currently testing it to see how well the watch is keeping time.

The seller didn't provide much information, so most of this is from my own research - does anything I wrote sound incorrect? Would love to hear the community's feedback.

On a side note, I'm a little bit apprehensive as to how to treat this watch. I was really in the market for a daily beater, but ended up with this instead. Seeing the condition the watch is in - and given that I'm pretty clumsy - I'm not sure how often I'm going to be able to wear this :whistling:

Most pictures are from the seller because I don't have a great camera.

I have a similar watch (no-date 167.005) that is as nice as yours. It was one of my first vintage watches and planned to be a daily wearer. Well, I wear it for special occasions. It is so nice and dressy.

You could slide a gnat down those beautiful lug chamfers. You have a watch that clearly hasn't been worn much, maybe for special occasions and Sundays. I would keep the watch as a dress watch and buy a nice, robust, and comparatively inexpensive stainless steel Seamaster automatic as a daily banger.

Beautiful catch, congrats! And isn't that a great situation to be in having to decide if you need another watch in your collection:)

    Great catch - congrats!
I know we are only 'keepers' of these beautiful watches but I say wear it - that's what they're meant for - just be careful

That's in great condition, congratulations on owning one of the finest watches you'll ever hold in your hands :)

The chamfers are looking especially nice when you consider that it's gold capped - very rarely are they in a similar condition.

    exactly the same as mine.

what is interesting is that when this watch was voted as the most accurate in the
60s, the case was made by CB.
