Just sharing my new acquisition. Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch 2017. If you are wondering why 2017, I am new to omega watches and I wanted to get a 2017 one as my son was born last year and I would eventually pass on this watch to him when he is grown up. The moon watch is one of the most iconic watch and I am very happy with my purchase.I’ve just changed the strap this morning as I have a small wrist and prefer a leather strap.
A nice story and enjoy the watch for many years until you hand it on to your son. It goes very well with that strap too: is it a Hirsch Lucca?
Congratulations on both counts. Wonderful piece to commemorate your son’s birth year. I’m sure he’ll appreciate it grately when it is passed down. Enjoy!
Congrats! I’m thinking along the same lines mate! Got my first omega (Seamaster Deville 1967) last year when I found out my wife was expecting. Just ordered a FOIS as something to pass down to him when he’s 18. All the best. X
Congratulations! You’re in the cool kids club now. I have a Hirsch accent rubber strap I throw on once in a while for change of pace. (This is just a gratuitous pic ‘cause I think Speedies look really boss! Enjoy.)
A hearty congratulations are in order! Don’t forget to get a pic from inside the presentation box with the lid fully closed...you have the technology.
Congratulations I think it is a great idea. I bought my first omega a few month back, 1949 Seamaster bumper automatic. My wife wanted me to get a Rolex, but IMHO the FOIS is the most iconic watch ever and I couldn’t resist it.
Interesting thought. Enlighten me please: how do you achieve that? Oh and congrats to the OP on both counts. Let’s hope that your Son is “into” Watches come the time to hand it down
1. Engage both timer and flash functions of phone camera. 2. Place phone camera in large accessory bin of presentation box as depicted in first and second pics below. NOTE: Remove foam insert. 3. Mash “go” button of phone camera. 4. Fully close presentation box lid. 5. BAM! 6.
Awesome. Thanks for the explanation. I’d all sorts of different thoughts of how you’d achieve it and none included a mobile phone
I need to stop looking at this thread. This was my first good watch, and I sold it back in 2007. Just bought the new 300m diver and *almost* starting to wish I'd just got a new Speedy instead.
Congrats! Ot also got me thinking, maybe I should take advantage of my newborn child to get a new Moonwatch...
