I am staying in a small town in Switzerland on business for a couple of weeks. Per my usual practice I have gone to the local jewelry stores in my free time looking for old watches. Yesterday I went into an old store on a side street and was greeted by an older gentleman and his wife. I asked if they had any old watches and they said that unfortunately they had just sold most of them. They saw the SeaMaster on my wrist and said that maybe they had one older Seamaster. What they brought out is pictured below. At first they didn't want to sell it but after some bargaining it is mine. It is a Seamaster 60 Ref 166.0062 with Cal 565 auto movement from 1970...never sold (original Omega "Waterproof" strap and buckle...still running and keeping beautiful time. I guess this is about as close to NOS as I am liable to get. JohnCote
Geez.... Gave me the goose bumps to see that one. Literally! Can only congratulate to a great find, regardless of what it cost you!
Although I know nobody cares about pocket watches...I will tell you that at the same old store I bought these two NOS little fellows from the 1930s. Both stainless steel. I have not had the backs off of either yet... JohnCote
Congrats on a seriously cool haul! So nice to see what a Seamaster 60 is supposed to look like... so sharp... so sexy. As to the pocket watches... the CK1019... wowzers!
Wow!i found my first Omega NOS just a couple of weeks ago and happiness for such catch is something can not be described.Congrats yours is really nice and rare! The problem now will be "wrist It or not "? Have a nice we
This post has made my Sunday, the pocket watches are outstanding and I can't stop looking at your photo of them. Well done with your wanders down the side streets .
Ha Ha...I honestly think this is not the original box. I need to go back next week and see if they have the original which is older.
Booking a plane ticket to a small town in Switzerland asap. Fantastic watch, beautiful pocket watches. Congratulations on your new purchases
I will probably not wear it...it can't be NOS after you wear it. If I do wear it, I will put it on a different strap. This strap is too flat and new to ever wear. JohnCote
