So just by luck I happened to stop by a jeweler who used to sell Omegas and learned he is going out of the watch business to focus on something else and selling off all his stock of watches. I was able to procure his last moonwatch today at a reasonable price of $3700 no tax so about 30% off the list of 5250. But my question is will Omega still honor the warranty or is it invalid since he is no longer a dealer. Warranty cards were in the box and serials matched up. Took a quick pic before putting the box up.
Since the dealer was an AD when he bought the watch from Omega, they should honor the warranty. They just needs to stamp the warranty card. gatorcpa
Warranty cards were stamped with ADs name on it but they didn’t bother to date it or put any of the info on them. They told me I could just fill it out.
Nice timing BTW, grabbing the last moonwatch. Great when it works out like that and at a reasonable price too. Not sure if you are also questioning the validity of the date-less warranty card, but I had one like that and a warranty service was performed even though I filled in the date myself. Maybe they didn't mind so much because I had the receipt with me as well.
Good price for a brand new one! Big congrats! I think the warranty should be honored even the AD who sold it closed their doors. It’s an “international warranty” after all, as long as the paperwork is there and stamped, you can service it at Omega service center at any country.
Thanks all for your responses. I’m going to keep the receipt and scan it into my server as well so I have a copy in case the original gets lost or faded over time and then get my wife to fill out the warranty card so it matches the date of the receipt.
