The ETA G10211 from the Moonswatch is slightly different in size compared to the Hattori VK63 in the donor (if it is a genuine Hattori movement). It depends on what sort of spacer ring is used in the donor.

If it was my choice, I'd keep the Hattori (Seiko/SII) movement and just do a dial/hands swap.

I thought about it but not sure if the dial spacing for the hands are the same.Still waiting for the watch to arrive

If you're living/dealing with nmosd then doing a movement swap should be a walk in the park (relatively).

Keep us posted when you can.

Can you just compress the crystal to pull out the movement?

Update: I finally received my watch from ebay and it turns out that it is a speedmaster quartz replica. So I am still going to use it but I am going to have to do a dial swap. Hopefully when I start it will work may have to remove the dial feet and use dial dots. We'll see.......

I love these kinds of projects, watching with interest! I wonder if there is any way to swap the bezel insert too.

Well after taking this one apart the Swatch dial won't fit because the spacing between the subdials is different, back to the drawing board...

Can't you just re-case the MoonSwatch dial/hands/movement in the new steel case (with appropriate spacer solution)?

I need a new stem and a plastic movement holder, the one inside the Swatch won't work with this case. It isn't tall enough not to mention the crown for the stainless case is screw down and the stem from the Swatch isn't long enough.
