    Good evening All,

I've been a member on the UK TZ Forums for some years but as I've just sold an IWC and bought another Omega I thought I should seek wisdom here. My first quality watch was an Omega Seamaster 300M bought in 2000 - on the right in the picture below. Next came the Ed White Speedy bought in 2011 as a birth year watch (according to the Bienne archive extract it was released 9 days after I was born in 1964). Recently I sold an IWC Portuguese Chronograph (still one of the most beautiful watches but I simply didn't wear it) and bought the Planet Ocean 8500.

Next on my Omega wish list is the Cosmic Moonphase Triple Date Black Dial in gold.

Welcome to the forum and great collection so far. I would love to find a triple date moonphase, it would make a fantastic dress watch.

Great introduction, skier! Great watches! Sure, 64 was a great year to come to earth...

Only 9 days away from your birthday, now that is impressive! My birth year watch production date is 3 weeks from my birthday and I thought that was close.

Yeah, that's what the archive extract states but, for example, the case back has a date of 65 on it. Omega wasn't great in those days at record keeping or releasing coherent examples.

As an aside, I'd been looking for a birth year Speedy for some years and was intending to buy it as a 50th present to myself. When I saw this example (in Italy) I had to buy it, it was the best example I had seen for sale.

Yeah mine is similar, a 145.022-76 with a production date of late 77. Never know what you're going to find!

And just to add a somewhat more natural picture.

Ok, but it will have to wait until tomorrow as:

    a. It's too dark
    b. I'm listening to music videos from my university days on YouTube
    c. I'm pissed!

Is that three reasons or a causal chain?

Ok, by popular request (well, it was popular with me!) here's a wrist shot of the '64 Ed White taken a few minutes ago.

Following a small watch purchasing accident I am now the proud owner of this:

I tried one on when they first came out and was blown away by how good it looked in the flesh. Finally got around to buying one.
