Good Evening

Not my very first post but this is my Introductory post, and may be a little long winded for some. Firstly may I thank you for accepting me to this great forum. Unbelievable knowledge being shared by some fantastic members. I joined up over the last couple months after stumbling across the site while starting to look at vintage omegas and since then I’ve done some amount of reading and learning I can tell you, cross referencing against eBay listings, reading threads, searching threads, studying watches, comparing watches, what to look for what not to look for, cases crowns bracelets you name it … and all the rest. I’m also currently into week 2 recovery from a hernia operation and now it seems I’ve got even more time on my hands to read and search about watches and this is very very dangerous .
My very first vintage omega purchase happened to be from a kind member and reputable seller on here which came about while contacting about another watch. I wanted to make sure I bought a nice example of a model I had been studying for a few weeks, and from a trusted seller. It was not a bargain but I did not overpay. The watch was serviced prior to purchasing with warranty and with this in mind I felt it was a good opener and a sage purchase. I have used the sellers pics below which I hope he doesn’t mind as they are better than anything I have in my phone. Since purchasing and watching other chronostop prices v condition, I’m still very happy and this is one I intend to keep for the foreseeable and just enjoy wearing.
The next watch I bought I simply smitten by the design. I then spent weeks researching everything about the model and its variants, with all those great tips and hints on buying …then I completely ignored everything and bought a watch on an eBay whim. It looked unloved, seller comms and listing was poor, but I just wanted one of that model. When it arrived the original bracelet barely fitted my large wrist so had to buy a replacement strap, the case was over polished and it had lost the brushed steel sundial, there was patina on dial ( I actually think it enhances) haven’t yet seen the movement or serial number …. BUT it keeps time well, it’s cleaned up well just as the bracelet and clasp, the crystal is now polywatched and shows the dial much better and within an hour it transformed a tired watch into something nicer. It won’t win awards but it’s no ugly ducking. Ive worn this watch now a fair bit and I do like it, I have no intention of getting it serviced. My head is being turned far too much by other vintage seamasters that I’m realising is more to my taste and it looks like it’ll be on its way soon for someone else to enjoy. Nevertheless, it’s been a good experience owning and learning about this model and if it does get replaced then I’m sure I’ll have another in the future, and if it doesn’t then it’ll be a work watch.
And finally my 3rd and latest purchase. I felt I finally started getting an eye for a nicer watch and recognising condition better. I started looking specifically for a seamaster as I wanted one in my collection, a nice dress seamaster, I kept coming back to the 600. I was watching eBay like a hawk for weeks, getting acquainted with dials and styles when I saw this one for auction. The dial and applied Arabic numbers spoke to me. I had to have it. In my eyes, maybe not yours, I have not seen a more beautiful watch ( probably until next month). I stayed with that auction until the last 5 seconds, placed my bid … and it was mine. It’s home now, I can’t stop staring at it. I’ve 3 leathers straps and yet to decide what I prefer it on. The process has started to ship it to a watchmaker for a clean and movement service. I know already I will never sell this watch. I logged back in here after I bought it for a browse and while catching up on some threads i noticed the very watch I purchased being highlighted in the vintage omega eBay recommendation thread. I felt the purchase was then vindicated and felt lucky to get the watch without even more of a fight.

1. 1969 Chronostop

2. Dynamic

3. Seamaster 600

They might not be the best watches ever, but they are mine and it’s a start. I am happy to hear any comments negative or positive about my purchases.

Nice models, also fancy the Omega Dynamic and the seamaster 600. Welcome to the forum.

IIRC your Dynamic (watch #2) might not actually be over polished. If it's a gen 2 Geneve Dynamic then I think those had the more rounded and polished cases without the radial sunburst finishing that the gen 1 versions did.
