I have an old watch that I cannot identify and haven't seen anything like it on the interweb.
    Description:
    18K Gold case
    17 jewel
    Snap on back and bezel
    Teardrop lugs
    Gilt hands
    Inner seconds
    Blue steel second hand
    Omega Automatic

My father purchased it around 1945-46 from the army px while stationed in Germany.

It needs repaired/restored. Is it worth it? I wore in in 1988 and it was working. I have since put it away because I damaged one of the hands and lost some of the face markers.

Any help would be great. Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
Any chance of some more photos?

Is the restoration worth it? Its your father's watch - so a lot of the value is sentimental. The value of the actual watch is hard to say based on that one photo, it given it is 18k, it isn't worthless!

Where do you live, people might be able to recommend a repairer. If all the watch needs is a movement clean, then that might cost US$250-$300, plus extra for any parts that are required.

Looks like an early 28.10 with a refinished dial

Thanks for the reply. I am in Indianapolis. I will get a few more photos on here soon. I don't know if the dial has been refinished.
