Good afternoon, Just thought I’d introduce myself. I’m Steve and am based in Ireland. Like many here,I have been a watch fan for years. My first “ proper” watch was a Speedmaster Professional that I bought without box or papers over 28years ago. Years later I was able to purchase a second one to replace that long since gone first Speedmaster. Unfortunately in 2007, I had a serious motorcycle accident and the watch was lost during my trip to the hospital. I have just ordered my third one and hope it will be here by the weekend. I have been fortunate enough to have owned quite a few watches over the years from Rolex through Breitling to Panerai and have enjoyed most of them ! I always seem to come back to Omega however. The ones I have owned in the past always seemed to give the least (ie : no) trouble. I recently bought a new Seamaster and then pulled the trigger on the new Speedmaster. I look forward to engaging with the members on this forum and look forward to learning more about the brand. Thanks for reading Best, Steve

Thanks for the welcome. Feels like a great forum already. I was lurking for a while! Just a quick note, the watch in my profile pic is one that I bought at the same time as I bought my fiancée her engagement ring. Apparently engagement watches are actually “ a thing” now ! I had to persuade Lisa into the jewellers on the pretext of wanting to look at watches. Once there, with the ring bought, well it would have been rude not actually buy a watch wouldn’t it? ( And yes, the ring was considerably more than the watch. I’m not a complete idiot.....Some parts are missing! )

I must say...there is definately something about opening that ridiculous box for the very first time, welcome, hope this one brings you 100% less trips to that hospital
