I thought I would never be a watch guy, but here I am.

Short story - I bought my son a Tudor as a work-anniversary gift, but he didn’t want it. (He is not a watch guy). And then …. I wore it for a while. That was a mistake. I started getting into the watch thing - reading the web, looking at photos, investigating different brands.

I decided I like the Omega designs and story. So I traded the Tudor in for an Omega Seamaster with black dial. And … that led to a red 57 speedy

Not really sure where this is going but it’s been fun so far. Thanks for reading

Hi, welcome to the forum. It can become a bit addictive but one could have far worse hobbies!! Really like your Speedmaster, the dial is so uncluttered for a chronograph.

Yep, you never had a chance. You did the smart thing and just accepted your fate.

I'm a big Speedmaster fan myself, (which is why I'm here), but that Seamaster is about perfect.

Welcome aboard.

Welcome! I'm in the same rabbit hole for months now; new to the forum as well. Btw, that dark red Speedy 57 is gorgeous.

Smart move, you now have a nice little start to an Omega collection, I think a diver should be next.

Don’t worry. Collecting watches is a delightful activity. It’s only when you start collecting objects like this that you should be concerned:

Welcome and 2 great watches. Is the AT the 41 or 38mm? Looks like 41- which is 8900 movement? If I were buying an AT now I would choose this one. Ive worn this vertical teak "European Golf" version with green Seamaster and hour numbers since 2013 and never tire of it.

It’s the 41 with the 8900. This one: 220.10.41.21.01.002

It is also beautiful in the dark. I may try to take a photo.

For the record, these watches are incredibly accurate. I’ve been thinking about posting something comparing my Omega experience with my Tudor experience. I had a Tudor 1926 that I bought new that could not keep time. It would lose 20 seconds in a day. I had it serviced twice in 4 months and then just gave up on it.
