Hello. I am new here in the forum and would like to introduce myself.
My name is Frank and I live in Germany.
I've been interested in watches for quite some time, but mostly newer ones. Of course, I also occasionally had a Speedmaster on my arm, but unfortunately she has never really convinced me. The unique history of the watch, the extensive tests it has passed, all this is obviously outstanding, but I always found the optics a bit boring. That changed a few weeks ago. I held a Stepdial Speedie in my hands for the first time. It had happened to me. The depth of the dial, the beautiful lines of the case and the warm colored tritium inspired me. The watch had so much character that I absolutely wanted a Stepdial Speedie. I then rewrote in various forums and on many websites and then decided to focus my search on a 145,022-71. By chance I found after a short search "my" clock. Through a contact here in the forum, I met some very nice and helpful members who helped me a lot with my decision.

The strap, which is mounted on the clock, is unfortunately of recent date. I'm trying to find a 1171 or a 1116 from the 70s, let's see, when I succeed. I am still looking for a nice box, but that has time. First of all, I'm looking forward to wear my wonderful Speedie.

But first of all a few quick pictures:

;) Crown and pushers are serviced. Maybe the case is also changed. I dont know. It really looks very good. Maybe too good. I have heard different assessments and decided to live with the "risk". At the moment, I'm just enjoying the beauty of the clock.:)

    Welcome Frank.
I think you are the first Speedie wearer who was won over by the stepped dial.
    Congrats on your new find.

Just of out curiosity, have you opened up the back case for a look at the movement? What is the first 3 digits of the serial if you don't mind?

Sure. The serial should be matching. It starts with 316xxxxxx. And the caseback should be correct, too. It‘s a medaillon-back with reference 145022-71 inside. Referring to the back‘s inide, case should be build by HF.

Welcome! The first pic of the dial under natural light is really cool. Love shots like these as they really bring out the dial!

Welcome. Nice Speedmaster. It is not really necessary to change the bracelet. The 1171 is fine. Add some Nato straps and your watch will look different from day to day.

Extremely nice watch to start with.

And I think this is just the beginning of a beautiful friendship between you and your Speedy (I'm sure it won't be the last friend, of course...)! :)
