Hi all. I just joined the forum today. This week I picked up a 1969 Speedmaster Ref. 145.022-69 ST. The original owner worked in the space industry at Lockheed in the 60's and 70's and got this watch right after the moon landing. It sat in a drawer its whole life with the exception of an oil and mainspring service in 1995. His son inherited in May and he had no interest in the watch, so bought it off of him. I just cleaned the grime off of the watch and it looks brand new and runs perfectly. I sent it to service today and will receive it back in 100% untouched vintage condition in a few weeks. I also ordered up an extract of the archives and am trying to piece together as much of the history of the watch as I can. It certainly feels like a true moonwatch!

Excellent! Glad it is being enjoyed properly. Weird how the son of someone involved in the space industry and zero interest after inheriting a fine watch such as that.
