As I’m over the moon I thought I would share with you my final and I feel best purchase of 2022, the 34mm JLC master ultra thin 145.8.79s.
I had been considering one of these for a few years and fortunately a deal came up I couldn’t refuse. Got this beautiful watch from watchfinder in mint condition fresh from a service from their JLC authorised watchmaker, 2 yr warranty, box and papers and cheaper than any other examples I could see on the net. I was fortunate in that I saw it on the first day it was advertised and got a small discount
I’m smitten, can you tell?

That's a really nice watch, JLC made a great ultrathin manual movement for decades. Unfortunately they only make auto movements now in their Master series.

Yes it’s a shame. I specifically wanted a manual wind and couldn’t be happier with this beauty

Do it!
Need to enjoy my current setup a bit first. I can’t own too many watches at once. It stresses me out 😁 I know that may not be the norm on here though.

Sell whatever you need to get this!
Only kidding though honestly this watch is another level of finishing quality. Pics don’t do it justice.
I’ve owned virtually every mainstream brand with the exception of the holy trinity of PP, VC and AP and this is by far the best I’ve owned.
I’m also in the mindset of less is more in terms of collecting and try not to go above 5.

I’m tempted! I assume these aren’t produced anymore?
Would really like to see one irl.
I’m at 4 now and that is basically my limit.
Had to sell my tank must as I couldn’t stand knowing it’s only lying in my drawer.

They are discontinued. There are some vids on YouTube but not many. I have owned about 20 34mm watches and this is a watch that feels 34 as only has 40ish mm lugs. I think you have to really like smaller watches to appreciate it properly, they’re not for everyone but if you do this is as good as it gets. The gold versions are meant to be even nicer.

Small watches are my thing. 34mm fits the spot for dress watches and beaters for me. My dive watch (2252) is only 36mm. Perfect imo!
We’ll… the 145.8.79 may vary we’ll need to be my next purchase!

So clean! And yes I have been gravitating towards 34mm for dress watches too, even though I have a bigger wrist I still think it’s a prefect size for a dress watch.

These are 35mm...both from 1957...bumper movements. And to my mind, more than reasonable in terms of price. I just couldn't pass them up.
