This LE has been in my wishlist for a while and since Rob at Topper Jewelers listed one for sale at a pretty good price I had to jump on it. ;)

The dial looks nice and matte in indirect lighting:

When light hits the dial directly ::love::

    Funny story:
This was one of the first Speedmaster LEs I had ever seen in person, at a time when I didn't know much about Speedmasters, let alone the limited editions.
My first statement to the OB sales guy when I saw the watch - "Oh, is this one defective? The dial looks scratched. "

These are superb, every dial is different. Try a Kevlar or Carbon Fibre look strap. Enjoy!

    Thanks everyone!

What does the sun on the caseback signify - Apollo? Or the solar eclipse maneuver they performed?

Hopefully it was replaced with something better oddboy?

Honestly, I think that the suns rays are so d::censored::m bright above our atmosphere, that it is an excruciatingly bright experience for the cosmo-astro-nauts, and that is how they chose to rendered it...:D

I wasnt a member yet back in Sept 2015 @oddboy but If I had seen these absolutely stunning magnificently taken shots , I would've bought it off you in an instant ! The 1st thought that crossed my mind was " Is this seller Mad , Gone Bananas or what ? ". Then you said you wanted to focus on Cal 321 or something like that....
I've stored your old Speediorite ( You call it Speedyorite ) photos in my memory card as a reminder one day I'll have my very own[emoji68] & perhaps You should reconsider your decision ![IMG]

Went with a leather strap for now....coincidentally, I had a new custom strap left that I hadn't used yet.

I also have to congratulate your photography skills. Tempted to get mine out of box and snap a few new ones but don't think I'll get near this quality.

I doff my hat to you Sir.

When the sun catches it just right, you see all the scratches!

Which meteorite was exactly used ( Iron I suppose revealing the Widmanstätten pattern after polishing ) ?

Hi Doug[emoji137] I'll tell you another way of spotting a replica Speediorite AS

Actually in a genuine version ALL the powerful rays of light ( or On a Chest X Ray it looks exactly like a spiculated solitary pulmonary nodule ) are connected to the core or centre of the ball of fire or star without any interruption or discontinuation.
In a Replica , at least one ray of light is separated from the core or in medical terms , a spicule is left stranded by itself like an ugly thorn ! Remember this important sign guys ! You wont hear it from anyone else except me [emoji136]

    Congrats on the Speedyorite!

Use a pic of it as your avatar.

Mine - and it is the only speedy I want.
