Have been on a bit of a shopping spree lately but I assume this is kind of a grail: a (IMHO) very nice and original 33.3. Some (poor) pics:

Thanks guys. Anyone who have an idea about a strap? Fixed lugs, 20mm. What tapering? I assume 16mm? And should I go fo period correct or just a new one.

20mm tapering to 16mm is traditional.
On that watch might I suggest a thin very dark blue croc or alligator strap to match the blued hands?

Love it btw, what is the case size?

Damn that's a serious disappointment, although I have zero doubts about the watch. It might be worth an email to one of the guys in the vintage department in Bienne? If the big auction houses can do it......;)

    Mark,

I would not mind... it is not uncommon that numbers are missing because of lost /destroyed parts of the microfilm... I had to face this several times on some of my watches. So do I love them less? No - as I am convinced they are original. The extract is only an additional bonus...

It is different on a Patek Philippe - there the information is in real books, not on vulnerable microfilms - so if you can´t get an extract from Patek the watch is not original (swapped movement or the like).

    Back to your chronograph:

What would you get on an extract for this watch (if the movement serial# had been found on the microfilm)?

Somethink like that (which I received for one of my watches):

    Type: wristwatch
    Model: not mentioned
    Calibre: 33.3 CHRO
    Metal: not mentioned
    Bracelet: Not mentioned

    movement serial: 9.382.xxx
    case number: n.a.
    model: n.a.
    ref.#: not mentioned
    dial: not mentioned
    Production: September 30th 1938
    Delivered to: Switzerland

Remarks: This watch was produced under license by Lemania Watch l´Orient who was a subsidiary of Omega at that time

And you would have to pay a lot for this tiny bit of information which mostly you already knew yourself!

So in this case forget that piece of paper - it would not be of use.

Enjoy your beautiful watch for what it is - and I think it is fully original how it is and in nice condition to say the least...

It was on my watch list - I would have been a strong competitor in the auction if my wallet had not been empty for several month now :(

    best

    Erich

    I fully support Erich @mac_omega.

The 33.3 and most later chronographs sold under the Omega brand was entirely made, and mostly also assembled/completed, by Lemania. This may play a big part in why Omega often will lack proper records.
As you surely know the 33.3 is the Omega designation for the Lemania 15CH(TL) caliber. It was originally built to be used in pocket watches, and later formed the base for the "military" cals 2220/2221/2225/2240. It has proper pedigree!

In the case of your watch the dial, movement and case all matches up nicely. I would have had no worries!

Basically agree with you guys and I do not worry at all but for some reason knowing the date and country of delivery adds something to the watch to me.

Weird: in stead of cancelling the cc transaction Omega reimbursed me. However: EUR 5 less in than went out....
