Thanks, learning a little more all the time. Seems strange that if jared is not a boutique they seem so set on pricing.

Omega will only authorize a dealer to sell their watches if they agree to list them at standard Omega pricing. That does not mean that the AD cannot then give discounts at their discretion when closing a deal, but those discounts are not supposed to be too large. Same goes for OBs, some will discount and some will not (also depends on demand for the model in question). Any dealer that lists the watches at below the prices on the Omega website is unauthorized, aka a grey market dealer (e.g. Jomashop).

I used to think that buying a car was hard; but in retrospect it seems easier than buying a watch, as the cars on the lot take up a lot more space so there's so much incentive to haggle and move them, especially at the end of the month. Watches? Do dealers also work in a similar way as far as monthly sales and inventories go? Has anyone here on OF worked the other side of the counter who might enlighten us on sales practices?
