Personally not sure about this one. The change in the link shape and size makes it look like a hybrid of oyster and flat link. I can see the appeal, but it wasn't the update I expected. Maybe seeing how it looks on others' watches will change my mind.

I agree -- would have to see it on the watch before taking a plunge on this one.

And while I've generally enjoyed my Forstners, my last CS experience with them was less than stellar so I think I'll wait out the next few revisions before adding another to the stable.

Very interesting. I literally today emailed Forstner about my flatlink for FOIS as the spring links have become permanently stretched - initially looking for an exchange. The new clasp on this one looks a winner for me. Think I might push for a refund and purchase the new one if possible, when it arrives in the UK…

EDIT - my mistake, looks like we have it here too for £159

It will be interesting to see what the quality/finish is. I like that it’s using a milled clasp, but the overall fit and finish of the parts are unclear having no prior experience of this brand. I love the look of the 321 Ed White bracelet, so hoping this provides a reasonable approximation. If it doesn’t do justice to the watch I’ll go back to the stock bracelet (which I do like).

I thought I remember seeing something a while ago about Forstner potentially selling the clasp separately, so you could swap it out on their original first link. Has anyone heard anything since the bracelet was released?

Will be interested to see some forum members post pics of this bracelet on the FOIS so that I can see how well it matches. I currently have the original Forstner flat link on my FOIS and I love the overall look and feel of it on my slim wrist (a bit over 6 inches in diameter). My initial impression is that this new flat link will be better suited to wearers with larger wrists (7 inches upward) as the longer and thicker links will look better proportioned on them. I also like the new milled clasp with push button release because it provides more security than the original push clasp.

What’s with the pre and post 2021?

[Edited] I read this wrong the first time. I thought you were talking about the Seamaster. I recall reading that people were able to fit the new Speedmaster bracelet on the previous model but it would only work if they changed the spring bars so they're not exactly the same.

I recently ordered 2 flatlink bracelets from them. Now that this one came out I asked if I could swap one of the ones I hadn't taken out of the box for this one and they replied today saying ok.

So looking forward to getting the contemporary flatlink and doing a side by side with the regular flatlink.

This is what I had gotten it for 😀

That's incredible. What end links are you using in order to make that happen? While the new milled clasp will probably feel super high quality, you're sort of losing out on the Omega logo since on the old style clasp you could put a vintage buckle cover on it.

Using the Speedy endlinks. From the side, the top isn't perfectly flush with the lugs due to the inward curve on them, but to me it looks good.

I love this one on a Mil Spec strap, but never had a real bracelet option for it other than the shark mesh. So this is a nice option that keeps the vintage vibe while also being modern at the same time.

I see your point in the clasp cover swap but it's also not a huge deal for me as I know it's not an Omega bracelet to begin with... I'm still gonna play with that a bit though.

What’s with the pre and post 2021?

They make different end links to fit the case for the models up through 2020 (1861) and the new 2021 model (3861).

Can anyone here speak on the quality differences between Uncle Seiko and Forstner?

I’ve purchased the 1450 and flat link from Uncle Seiko, and wonder if I’m missing out by not trying Forstner.

What I meant is that they should have used case numbers or movement numbers. Both watches were available new in 2021.
