    Hello all,

I wanted to share with you this nice Zenith A3817. I was looking for this reference and the A3818 since some years, and after found the A3818 one year ago, I finally found this A3817.
Crown is a service part but the rest seems ok.

Thanks to @LouS to help me about serial number.

I really like this dial !

Congrats! These are rare indeed. Nice clean dial on your one.

I believe the subdial hands are replacements.

    Enjoy, it’s my favourite reference!

Thanks everybody for your comment. Happy to see you like it too :)

@sailor : please how can you see that subdial hands are service parts ?

The right side minutes hand should be the same white colour as the bottom hours hand. It also looks a tad thicker than the other hands, but that could just be an optical thing due to the colour.

I believe the left side seconds hand should be a french blue colour. There are other examples of the A3817 which have the dark blue hand like yours, though the French blue is the more common. I've always assumed the dark blue to be service hands. It'd be interesting to investigate the serial numbers of the A3817 with the dark blue hands, perhaps they are original and were in the first batch of watches made??

Zenith commonly replaced crowns and sub dial hands when servicing watches i believe.. I have definitely seen a 3817s w the same blue hand yours has. For me whether the sub hands are original or not is less relevant than the case dial and main hands and not relume hands. I'd like to see yours under uv but it looks very nice!

Enjoy your time with this nice EP, crown is more nice as others and subdial hands are not so important now,
maybe a day you can meet a couple on Ebay or other place.
Not many people have at home both A3817 & A3818 ;)

Congrats, beautiful! I was just admiring this watch on chrono24, jumped over here to do some research, and it's posted at the top of the zenith forum! Sorry that it's gone, but happy for you.

Congrats! I've been looking at this piece for years and in the mean time, I've picked up the re-issue version which is nothing as nice as this. I'm parting with this soon and will get the original one definitely!

    Here's my re-issue to share :)
