FYI. I think the dial, which looks domed not stepped, is correct for a 2915.

    Not so fast.
The hour, minute and Chrono hand are correct for a 2998-1
    Edit: and 2998-2

bezel is a base 1000. Hands are 2998-1 and he said the stamp on the clasp of the band is 159. Band doesn't stretch. I told him to send it to me so I can open the back and inspect the movement and check the caseback - but it sure looks to me like a 2998-1

He was shocked!!! And incredibly thankful that I alerted him to what hes got on his hands! The odds that he is friends with someone who could tell him the gem that he possesses is unreal. Most people have no clue when it comes to old watches. Its sad to think of all of the rare watches that have been discarded over the years from estate clean-outs and old dresser drawers.

Does 2915-3 have a thin strip of lume in both the hour and minute hand?
