New clasp in moonwatch 3861?

Hi!

taking a look at the Omega website, I have noticed a small change, and that is that they are more precise in the characteristics of the watches, specifying the thickness, weight and even the type of closure, which they did not do before and they were more concise in terms of specifying.

So seeing the Moonwatch, it seems that they have already updated their clasp by putting the famous little “PUSH” button to regulate the micro-adjustment, as in the latest gold 3861 or Chronoscope. RJ Broer already commented that they would update it, and it seems that it has already arrived, according to his website... Do you have any news or more info about it?

Thanks!

Anyone get a new Speedmaster recently with an updated clasp
Probably a dumb euphemism for those two micro-adjust holes
Heh, heh, good one. But you have to supply your own toothpick.

Would be a nice time to introduce it given the 5% or such price rise that's about to happen. At least people will feel like the extra money is paying for something.

One thing I noticed which is extremely surprising is that practically no 3861 bracelets have been sold on eBay separately since the watch came out. It's really hard to actually get one without having an AD/OB order it for you at full price.

I want one for my 1861 but would much rather pay the £350-£400 or so eBay price rather than £700.

Is this just going to be the Chronoscope clasp on the Speedy?

I checked out the Chronoscope comfort clasp at an Omega Boutique. I was surprised at how non-fluid and clumsy the pushbutton motion was. And it appeared to only have TWO adjustment settings.

So if you have a 3861 Speedy and you install the Chronoscope clasp, it appears that you don't get any greater range of adjustment vs the original pin clasp. You do get "on the fly convenience" of a button adjustment vs carrying a pin tool, but the pushbutton motion itself didn't feel premium at all.

And why didn't they include the pushbutton clasp from the outset? Now the earliest adopters are missing out. Surely there is a way to include more pushbutton micro adjust and still keep the clasp compact?

Maybe it will be an excuse for next price increase.

I believe the clasp cover is a little longer and you also lose the notch on the original clasp when you let out the micro adjust.

I have to wear the 3861 bracelet with the micro adjust extended in order for it to be comfortable. That notch once snagged on my wife’s arm and left a pretty bad scratch so I stopped using the OEM bracelet and wear the Speedy on a Forstner Contemporary Flat Link instead.
