hi
i have recently purchased this omega automatic geneve with a stunning dial.
the problem is, that the gold on the case i almost gone especially on the lugs.
i think a new case from another watch might be the right option here but is it a realistic mission to find a new case?
thanks in advance

facts:
ref. 14702-2SC
cal. 522

Why not just get it re-plated? You could get a jeweler to do it, or you could do it yourself if you have some scrap gold and an appropriate electrolyte?

They do pop up on eBay every now and then. Be patient, within a year or so it should be possible to find one. Expect a very good SS example to be 200-400€, a gold-capped one maybe 150-300€.

Personally, I’d have no problem re-plating the original case.

Watches get new crowns, crystals and parts frequently. I’d prefer to keep the original case rather than convert your watch into what, arguably, is a franken.
