Hi I am a brand new collector trying to break into vintage watch collecting. I have about a $500 dollar budget and I am interested in these 2 Omegas I have found over the last three weeks links:
    1. http://forums.watchnet.com/index.php?t=tree&goto=730360&rid=0
    2. http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tree&goto=7059897&rid=0#msg_7059897

Basically I am trying to figure out if they look overpriced, good condition, years on them and any other insight or knowledge, advice you might have!

Thank you for any help and guidance!!

For that budget, I'd look elsewhere. Neither are well preserved or particular rare in better condition. Take a look through the Sales Forums back catalogue to get a feel for what sort of watch should be paired with that budget. Welcome aboard!

Thanks for the help! I really want to start collecting exclusively vintage Omegas though, just like their history etc...what types of characteristics should I be looking for in a $500 vintage Omega?

And how much would servicing that cost generally?

One you posted is 3 years old and prob long gone.

Just photo of watch head without a band and spring bars will have both when sold.

    Search threads for that.

In your price range this is what I recommend

Thanks for the help! Unfortunately I do not see an email or anything to contact the seller?
Also how often should you get a watch like this serviced?

Click on he's avatar and you will see send message. Like clicking on my picture of a crocodile.

You should do some research on service. But keep in mind every watch you buy vintage needs a service within a few months if it does not have a service receipt.

You can date Omega watches to the approximate year using this link, using their serial numbers.

The watch is double that + a bit more. And will last double your age again with a service here and there over time.
