    I sent photos and info to Longines, was told it was restored/original, just as the seller disclosed.
    Are we rong? ;)

    Presented as an original dial that was restored... how do we prove it wasn't.
    Inquiring minds want to know...mine;)

    “An original dial that was restored” means it’s not an “original dial that’s original”.
    In collectors’ parlance “original” means = varnishes on the dial plate have not been repainted = not restored.

    But because it carries a big difference in value dealers try to confuse the terminology and make people believe there is such a thing as “restored original dial”.

    What’s most important is that you like it though, and those lugs are very nice.

    They were the main selling point, along with the 18k ...the dial, well it is 74yrs old after all. :rolleyes::whistling:
