Over the past decade or so, my grail watch has been a Speedmaster 2998 fitted with the lollipop chrono hand. Back in 2009 these were financially out of reach for me, and they’ve only gotten farther out of reach in the years since. For obvious reasons, the FOIS has (sort of) been calling to me for years, but I just couldn’t get past some of the odd design choices (no official bracelet, no AML, and the mis-marched subdial hands). So after almost 2 years of bouncing back and forth, I finally pulled the trigger on a 60th anniversary Speedmaster. This is the first modern watch I’ve owned, so it feels a little odd posting photos of something inherently not unique, but I simply can’t stop staring at it and snapping photos, so here we are. I have zero complaints about this piece, between the size, the vintage look, and the... everything else, I’m chuffed to bits.
