·I recently sold my Chronostop Genève and started wishing I had kept it, so I impulsively grabbed a bigger Seamaster version with a pulsations ring on a 1170 bracelet. I really enjoyed wearing it for a couple of days and checking my pulse at random intervals (probably healthy, definitely alive—I am not a doctor), although the bracelet is a pitiless arm hair puller. Unusually for Japan, the bracelet has a lot of play, beyond even my comfort level of loose dangly watches (roughly, 1970s porn director). It’s the most massive-wearing watch I’ve ever had, with 22mm lugs.
Sadly when I opened the case the gasket had glued itself to the back and partially disintegrated on opening. After putting everything back together, the gasket appears to have shed some gunk into the movement and the whole thing is seized up tight. I opened it back up and looked around, but unless I spot something like a little guy in there with his shoe untied or something, I don’t have a clue on what to do about it. So off it goes for service.
More of a comment than a question, I suppose.
