Hello guys, Today I wanted to share this remarkable new arrival with you. I picked it up from Ebay the other week and it arrived today. I matched it with a taupe leather strap. I also added some snaps of the 16/14 Eterna buckle I bought from another vendor for reference because I found documentation of these to be quite lackluster. I'd be thrilled if someone could share their insights regarding the laser-etched logo in the glass. Does this check out to the early '50s? Kind regards, Matt
I don't think it would be laser etching, most likely part of the die that the original crystals were pressed in to, much the same as the Ω symbol in Omega plexi crystals. And congratulations on a nice Eterna.
Such a great watch! Those hands are something else, and the applied markers are extremely cool. Well done, I'm jealous.
This thread was brought back to my attention by someone liking it today. So I figured I'd show off some extra footage. All shot with my Samsung Galaxy S9 smartphone. Low lighting hour hand. Dial shot in direct sunlight. Do note the logo in the glass casting a little shadow on the dial. What a sight. Low lighting applied logo. They look like liquid metal drops.
I've been considering painting a red tip on the second hand of my Bulova. Its second hand is so close in size to the minute hand that when glancing at the time I often see it wrong. My Zimm has a solid red coated second hand and the HMT I just ordered also has a solid red second hand. My Shanghai Watch Factory has a tiny red disc on the second hand. A second hand should always be boldly different from the other hands. just my opinion.
