My daily watch has been a 2264.50 and has been with me through some gnarly stuff. Recently I felt myself getting that new watch itch. I installed a new bezel and that curbed my appetite for awhile, but that nagging feeling was still there.

Initially my plan was to sell the 2264 and get a 2231.50 but ultimately I decided against it. I'm one of those losers who actually rely on their watch being durable and accurate so I prefer quartz. I decided to almost come full circle (my first Omega was a 2541.80 I traded for the 2264) but went with Craig over Brosnan, as he's clearly the superior Bond.

It’s probably the nicest Seamaster quartz they’ve made, it’s actually a shame that they’ve discontinued the quartz Seamasters at this point, they definitely did have a market and a lot of people do appreciate them. That applied marker Daniel Craig version is already seeing some appreciation in value due to that and I expect it to continue into the future.

Welcome! Props to you for wearing that 2264.50 as a proper tool watch, that old bezel looked gnarly in a cool way. I don't have the guts to beat my watch up like that, but I love the look. I have the same feeling about having a quartz I can always grab and go without thinking about if it's wound or if it's accurate. I think anyone with a multiple watch collection should have at least one quartz.

Unfortunately, as you disrespected Brosnan and my 2541.80, we are mortal enemies now... just kidding. When I was first getting into watches, I considered the 2220.80 as well, I liked the applied indices and red text. But I also preferred the more vintage look and the quartz practicality of the original SMP, and Brosnan and GoldenEye are my favourite Bond and Bond movie so I went that direction. Seven years so far and not a day I've regretted it or been bored of it. Easy forever watch.

Agreed, I think all of the SMP gens have a healthy future on the second hand market really. They'll never be crazy high as so many were made, but they're all still excellent choices to this day. Mine was $2500 AUD for a very clean example with full set in 2018, it would now trade at about $4000-4500.

Quartz Casino, the only one... i don't have 😀 Nice watch anyway.

It's not so much the lack of quartz I missed but thin watches. Current automatic Omega mouvement's tend to make big watches. And for no real increase vs the previous simple ETA 2824 or 2892.

I love the avatar. As a child of the 90s, I can hear the theme song when I look at it. The 2264.50 is my forever watch. I bought a GoldenEye for my 30th birthday with the intent of that being my only watch. My hours were 2100-0700 at the time, and the lume on the skeleton hands just weren't cutting it.

I ended up going down a rabbit hole and discovering the Peter Blake models, and knew that was exactly what I needed. I sold the GoldenEye and bought the 64. It has rarely left my wrist and survived over five years in a law enforcement/SWAT career. While it is objectively the better watch in terms of legibility, I'll always have a soft spot for it's blue, Bond connected sibling.
