New Acquisition: Omega Aqua Terra with Silver Dial

Hello fellow Omega enthusiasts,

Just wanted to share my latest acquisition - a stainless steel Omega Aqua Terra with the silver/white dial. After months of deliberation between this and the Speedmaster, I finally pulled the trigger last weekend.

The vertical teak pattern on the dial catches the light beautifully, shifting between cream and silver depending on the lighting. I especially appreciate how the date window is color-matched to the dial, maintaining the clean aesthetic. The blue seconds hand adds just the right touch of color without being flashy.

I've paired it with a navy sweater today, and I'm finding the versatility impressive - it works equally well with casual and formal attire. The 41mm case sits perfectly on my 6.76” wrist without overpowering.

For those considering this model, the bracelet is extremely comfortable right out of the box, though it took me a day to get used to the deployment clasp. The movement has been keeping excellent time so far.

Would love to hear from other Aqua Terra owners - how has yours held up over time? Any strap combinations you'd recommend?

Cheers,
John Mateyko

I have the white/silver dial 38.5mm quartz version of this Aqua Terra. The dial is incredible. Omega says it's a silver dial but it's closer to white than silver. As you say, the dial does an amazing job of catching light and giving the dial a rich and interesting texture.

I was afraid the light colored dial and silver hands would lead to legibility problems--but it has not. The hands are very nicely beveled and textured so light bounces off them very differently from the dial--leading to a surprising amount of contrast. Even in low light there is an amazing contrast as the dial remains light colored and the hands turn dark.

I think the Aqua Terra is about as all-purpose as a watch can be (GADA) and the silver/white dial is the most all-purpose dial color of the AT's. This watch looks appropriate with any color you wear. You can wear a suit with it or with jeans and a T-shirt. It's all good. If you want to add some color it's easy to do with a strap change. Black looks good. Blue looks good. Even red. Pretty much any color you want to add. I have the blue rubber strap that goes with the current gen blue AT and it looks amazing (and sporty) on that. If I could nominate any watch for a "one watch collection" this would be the one.

The only downside I see with your version is the polished center links. I find them a scratch and fingerprint magnet. I had a Master Co-Axial blue dial AT that had polished center links and I hated them. But I had them brushed out and all was well.

I hope you enjoy your AT. It's beautiful.

The AT is one of the most versatile watches in my collection. Always liked the silver white dial, but ended up getting the Bumblebee when I came across it. The vertical teak dial does a great job of subtle changes with light hitting the dial.

As far as straps go, many different colors work because the silver white dial blends so well. Easy way to get a sense of how colors is try some different Nato straps and it will bring the dial to life.

38.5mm Master Co-Axial. Have had this for 2 years now. Yes, the polished centre links are a bit of a scratch magnet but I don't mind it. Love the blue dial. Timekeeping has been excellent at roughly +1 second a day. Congrats on your new watch and wear in good health.

Nice Omega. That dial is a real looker, but it has to be seen in person to be appreciated. Omega called it "Silver Opaline".

I wear the same model, but with the blue dial. Mine is ten years old and I love it to death. My wife likes to surprise me with good watches on special birthdays, etc., and that's how this one came to me.

I rarely wear my watch this way, but I have the correct Omega strap and clasp, and that obviously makes for a comfy and handsome combo. I ordered these directly from Omega's web site. My strap is dark blue, and if I recall correctly Omega specified a dark brown strap for your reference when it was new.

This is a real beauty 😍
I'm a big fan of the AT's and can't praise them enough.

I bought my missus the 30mm quartz version for her birthday and was mightily impressed.
So much so that she bought me the 38.5mm version in return

I don't think there's a comparable watch to compete with it and Rolex are nowhere near
