I'm rather happy with the latest acquisition! Arrived in the post this morning, a 145.022-78 on a 1171/633 bracelet with nice discolouration to the tritium.

I can't get the spring bars out and it would benefit from a clean + a new crystal at some point as there is a deformation / chunk missing at ~9PM which gives it an odd cyclops-esque effect from certain angles, but that can wait.

It's the first Speedmaster I've owned with the inscription on on the caseback :)

Something another man can say about another man's watch that he can't say about his girl...that's a nice piece.

Sides look good to me. Quite hard to get a decent image of the crystal deformation but this gives you an idea of what I'm dealing with. Would love to know what happened, and really glad whatever it was missed the bezel! ::confused2::

Very nice. I agree, a new crystal is in order. I think that a previous owner has attempted to polish the crystal with a Dremel and melted it, then corrected it as far as possible.

That’s a really nice piece. In a bizarre way I quite like the cyclops effect that you’ve captured in the pic.
