It seems like it's Speedy fever around the globe so maybe nice Connies are getting overlooked in the craze.....at least I'm hoping. This one completes my hunting for Connies (for now) and brings me to a small trifecta of a 354 guilloche, c-shape, and this. . . Opened the box today and am feeling pleased but with all of the caveat emptors about 14900/165.005 fakes and Frankens I would appreciate opinions on the new child. It's a replacement crystal but the original was sent along (it is heavily "patina'd"). Looks to have a clean mov't and original gasket. 18mil serial puts it '61 and the dial is flawless from what I can tell.
Almost the same as the one I had, they're a beautiful reference when the lugs haven't been polished smooth https://omegaforums.net/threads/unpolished-1966-ss-constellation-pie-pan-551.20462/
Thanks for the link. It is a gorgeous reference, the facets on the lug edges are the best part. A lot of craftsmanship to appreciate on these. The online photos were unclear how smoothed the lugs were but in the flesh the facets are visible with gentle aging.
wow, very nice work... I'm envious congrats! ...and really looking forward to the 'group Family Photos'
