Never see any Seamasters like mine

I bought this Seamaster Professional 300m in 2005. I have looked many times primarily to check resale value and never see any watches that match this one. Mainly due to the bracelet. Model 2599.80.00. Can anybody tell me why I can’t find this watch with this bracelet anywhere? I must add that I absolutely love this watch. Other than showering and when it went for service it has been on my wrist for 18 years.

The quick answer is that yours doesn’t have the correct original bracelet. The so called Bond style SMP watches inc the 2599.80 had the fancier Bond style 9 part bracelet as std, your has the simpler Speedy style like those seen on the Blake SMP watches like the 2254 or 2594 chrono. There are 2 likely options here, either your watch isn’t in fact a 2599.80 but another related reference, or more likely it’s got a swapped bracelet. Thinking about it, the chrono is deeper than the 3 hand version so I think uses deeper end links as std. If you post the ref numbers on your clasp and endlinks we can tell you for sure. There were Blake style chronos and I think that is the bracelet you have there.

Compare these 2 below.

Speedmaster style bracelet
I dont like the printing of PROFESSIONAL, espacially the difference between first and second S.
The R from CHRONOMTER is very close to the dateframe.
The minute tracks triangles on 5,10,15,20,25, ... sould be orange or red-ish but not white. (the hands still have the color)

Do you have better pictures ? Any pictures of the back ?

I dont like the look of this watch !

I don't think it is dodgy. Many early 2599s have red chapter indices that have faded away to nothing, The mismatch with the hands is likely because they were swapped out when serviced, but the dial kept.

The OPs "R" is consistent with every photo of this model that I've seen in relation to the date frame.

This watch head never came on that bracelet. It came on the Boind bracelet, or on various straps, so this was some modification made to the watch at some point.

Well it has been to the factory in Switzerland for service so I am guessing it’s real lol.

Thank you for the response. I bought this new from a reputable grey market dealer in 2005. The original receipt says 2594.80.00 but when the Omega dealer sent for service they noted 2599.80.00. Original clasp has 32s or 325 I can’t tell I am old lol. Caliber 1164. I actually prefer this bracelet to the other style. I have seen some black dial with the same bracelet as mine but never blue with chronograph.

Hands were swapped when serviced and I, of course, have the originals as well.

I would suggest the grey dealer you bought it from wasn’t all that reputable since they sold you the head from a 2599.80 with the bracelet from a 2594.52. They are clearly interchangeable. There is no such watch as a 2594.80, they made that up. It’s not all bad, as you say it’s a good bracelet and it is an original Omega part, just not a standard configuration.

I appreciate your input. Do you think they do things like this to get around the grey market backlash from the company?

No, I suspect the seller just had some spares sitting around, and put them together to make a sale. It's really a moot point nearly 20 years after you purchased it, and obviously you love the watch.
