So I go into the local jeweler who is very happy and in pain with a band-aid around his index finger. I ask for an explanation and he tells me he was over at their other store run by his son and sees an Omega that he wants. The son gives it to him and he brought it back to the store. He was trying to slice off the poor quality strap to put on a DeBeers and sliced his finger with the razor. OK, let me take a look at it. Straight off it's a poor redial and then a quick look at the crown and I tell him what I've found. I also tell him that it could be a fake as I've never seen an Omega snapback case such as the one I was looking at.
It's now a week later and I'm back in the store. Jeweler says, let's get the case back off just to make sure. I pop the back off and look what we have here! The timepiece is an Omega 30 T2 ref 2325 jumbo case 37mm. Pics attached. I was stunned and admonished myself for making a judgement on the movement by looking at the dial and crown. So, off it will go to my watchmaker and when it returns it will go to the jeweler's grandson who is Citadel and a WW II buff.
