··Omega Qualified WatchmakerIt's not much different than the hundreds of threads boasting about buying low, hunting bargains at garage sales, seller didn't know what he had, snuck in the final bid, what new watch model will appreciate more, getting on waiting lists, etc...
Very glad you added this...
Edit: not saying all collectors are also thinking about making a buck.
Because it was certainly appearing that you thought all were in it just to make a buck.
I think even for those who do all those things to "make a buck" what the OP here is proposing is different in a substantial way. He's essentially wanting us to teach him how to make a buck, where those other examples people have already learned about watches, and are employing that knowledge to buy watches. Some of those people might not even sell them on, but genuinely collect and wear them...
I can only speak for myself, but I don't buy watches to make money, I simply buy what I like. If it goes up or down in value, I'm fine either way, because I rarely sell anything, and if I do, I've typically had it for a long time and gotten enjoyment out of the watch. So even a "loss" is not really a loss.
So far the OP hasn't demonstrated any interest in watches other than as a vehicle to make money, and I really don't think that applies to most here.
